Cox’s Bazar-1 (Chakaria-Pekua) constituency MP Zafar Alam has been diagnosed with coronavirus infection. His corona test came positive in the lab test of Cox’s Bazar Medical College on Friday. He was vaccinated against corona at Chakaria Upazila Health Complex on February 9.
Amin Chowdhury, a personal assistant to MP Zafar Alam, said the Covid-19 report had to be submitted to attend the session. He gave samples for corona testing last Thursday. MP’s corona positive result was found yesterday. The MP is physically healthy. He does not have any symptoms. MP Zafar Alam will be in home isolation at his Chakriya home.
Chakaria Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Mohammadul Haque said there were no symptoms in MP Zafar Alam.
Shahjahan Nazir, an assistant professor in the Department of Tropical Medicine and Infectious Diseases at Cox’s Bazar Medical College, said coronal samples from 48 people in Cox’s Bazar and Bandarban were tested at the Cox’s Bazar Medical College Lab yesterday. Of these, 21 received positive reports and 447 received negative reports. One of the 21 is from Bandarban district. The remaining 20 are from Cox’s Bazar.
