Awami League General Secretary and Minister for Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader has requested the concerned to pay the salaries and allowances of the workers working in different factories before Eid. He made the call at a regular briefing at his official residence on Saturday (May 1).
Obaidul Quader said, today is the first of May. May Day is the day of victory achieved through the struggle, solidarity, determination and blood of the workers. On this day, I am requesting the concerned people to pay the salaries and allowances of the workers working in different factories.
Obaidul Quader further said that Bangladesh became a member of the International Labor Organization on 22 June 1972 on the initiative of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. On the same day, Bangladesh ratified 29 conventions of the ILO. He said the Bangabandhu government first announced the labor policy on September 26, 1972 with the aim of establishing a society free from exploitation; Where emphasis is placed on the development of employer-worker relations, peace and productivity of industry, protection of the interests of the working people and welfare.
