The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to give more and more during the month of Ramadaan

The month of Ramadan brings endless blessings from Allah Almighty. Innumerable people are forgiven in this month. Helping needy people is one of the features of this month. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to give more than the flowing wind when the month of Ramadaan came.

Excessive donations in Ramadan: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to donate a lot in the month of Ramadaan. That is why the Companions used to give more and more. The eminent Companion Abdullah bin Abbas (RA) said, ‘The Messenger of Allah (SAW) was the most generous of people. And when Jibraeel (AS) met him in the month of Ramadan, he used to give more. Gabriel (peace be upon him) used to meet him every night during Ramadan. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to recite the Qur’an to him. When Gabriel (peace be upon him) met the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), he used to give more than the wind that blows for the welfare of the people. (Bukhari, Hadith: 3220)

Full reward of giving: There are many great opportunities to stand by people through giving. God the Almighty has promised a full reward. The Qur’an says, “Say: My Lord enlarges the provision for whom He wills of His servants, and straitens (it for whom He wills). He will repay you whatever you spend. He is the best of providers” (Surah Saba, verse 39).

Achieving Allah’s satisfaction through giving: Wealth is seen to decrease outwardly by giving, but in reality it continues to increase. Moreover, the satisfaction of the great Lord can be achieved by donating wealth. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): Who donates his wealth for self-purification. Not in return for anyone’s grace (he is giving it). Rather expecting only the satisfaction of the great Lord. And he will soon be satisfied. ‘(Surah Lail, verses: 18-21)

Secret charity suppresses the wrath of the Lord: Narrated from Umm Salamin (may Allah be pleased with her), the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Secret charity suppresses the wrath of the great Lord. Kinship relationships extend life. All good deeds are like charity. The virtuous in this world will be considered virtuous in the Hereafter. Those who do evil in this world will be considered evil in the Hereafter. ‘(Tabarani, Hadith No. 606)

Blessing Riji: Riji is blessed through charity. Allah the Almighty said, ‘Surely those who study the Book of Allah, establish the prayer, and spend secretly and openly from what Allah has provided, they can expect a business which will never perish. So that Allah may recompense them for their deeds, and give them more out of His grace. Surely He is the Forgiving, the Merciful. ‘(Surat al-Fatir: 29-30)

Collection of Zakat in Ramadan: Zakat is one of the five pillars of Islam. Zakat can be collected in the month of Ramadan. It is possible to get many times the reward by paying Zakat in this month. Many people pay Zakat in this month in the hope of gaining innumerable rewards. Zakat guarantees the social security of the poor, needy and disabled people. Besides, it is one of the main ways of economic development and growth.

Therefore, those on whom zakat is obligatory, can collect zakat in the month of Ramadan with proper calculation. Just as it is possible to get multiple sawa through this, there is also an opportunity to stand by the people who are in financial difficulties. May Allah Almighty grant us Tawfiq in due time.
