The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to give special instructions to the Companions in special events, times and seasons. When he felt the need to speak, he would say it. Once when the time for the rising moon of Ramadan approached, he gave a speech about Ramadan. In that speech, he said many important things about Ramadan. It is known from that hadith that ‘Ramadan is one of the seventy months’. That long speech has appeared in various books of Hadith. For example: Sahih Ibn Khuzaima, Hadith: 17; Baihaqi, Shuabul Iman, Hadith: 3336; Al-Kamel Lee Ibn Adi: 7/512; At-Taqeed Le Marifatis Sunani wal Masanid, page 205.
A piece of this hadith is ‘Shahrun Yujadu fi Rizkil Mu’mini fihi’. In other words, in this holy month of Ramadan, the sustenance of the believer increases. There are several possible explanations for this:
One. Faith and deeds increase in Ramadan. All Muslims worship more or less. This is the blessing of Allah. This is also a kind of Rizik. This sustenance and blessing increases in Ramadan.
Two. During Ramadan, Muslims donate more and more, and they seek the rights of their relatives. These works are one of the ways to increase Rizik. This has been narrated in several hadiths.
Three. Externally, Ramadan provides better food, in many countries workers are paid bonuses along with their wages, gifts come from different places during Ramadan, and the rich donate. Rizik leads the Muslims. God is the Lord of the universe. He is the only Creator and Sustainer. He is the manager of the whole world. Allaah gives good sustenance to all living beings, sometimes even giving more sustenance to other created beings than to human beings. Allaah Himself has taken the responsibility of providing for all the creatures that roam the earth. It is nothing but His mercy on the universe. As long as he wants to keep an animal alive, his sustenance continues to reach him by any means. If an animal dies due to starvation, it does not mean that the sustenance in the treasury of Allah has decreased. Rather, it means that it was not God’s will to keep the animal alive. So, like other accidents, starvation can be the cause of death.
GOD increases the provision for whomever He wills of His servants, and impoverishes whom He wills. Not all people are equal in terms of livelihood. Rizq is distributed according to the will of Allah and special wisdom. One is very rich, the other’s life is miserable due to poverty.
What is the reason for Rizik to be less? In this regard, Allah says, ‘If Allah had given abundant sustenance to all His servants, they would have caused disaster in the world. But He sends down as much as He wills. ‘(Surah: Shura, Ayat: 28)
