Sonaimuri Police have arrested the main accused Abdur Rob in connection with the gang-rape of a teenage daughter (11) of a rickshaw puller in Noakhali’s Sonanaimuri Upazila. The arrested Abdur Rob (28) is the son of Baker Miah of Bajra Union of Sonaimuri Upazila. On Saturday (May 1) evening, police raided Laksam in Comilla district with the help of information technology and arrested him.

According to the locals, the daughter of a rickshaw puller from Sonanaimuri went to a shop at 5 pm last Thursday to buy a mobile minute card. On the way back from the shop, Abdur Rob (23), the talented son of Baker Miah of the same village, stopped him and made him stand on the road. Later, Ripa, 26, son of Bachchu Mia of West Bajra village, wrapped a towel around his face and took him to a paddy field next to the school. Salauddin, 29, son of Seru Mia of the same village, was on guard at the time. They then gang-raped the girl in turn. Later, the teenager came home and informed the family members about the matter. The girl’s mother filed a case against the three accused at the Sonaimuri police station on Thursday night.
Sonaimuri Police Station OC Gias Uddin said the main accused in the organized rape case was arrested within two days of the incident. Police are trying to arrest the other fugitives. The arrested accused will be sent to the judicial court on Sunday.
Two more people died on Saturday (May 1st) while undergoing treatment in the corona isolation ward of the 250-bed General Hospital in Chandpur. One of the samples tested positive for corona and the other for corona negative. With this, the number of deaths in Corona district increased to 116 people.
According to hospital sources, on Saturday at 2 pm in the corona ward under treatment. A man named Solomon (70) has died. His home is in Alipur area of Hajiganj district. He was admitted to the hospital on April 23. He was afflicted with corona.
On the other hand, A. died in the isolation ward of the same hospital around 8 am on Saturday. Hamid (60). His house is in Bakharpur area of Chandpur Sadar upazila. He was admitted to Sadar Hospital on the morning of April 30. However, his sample test report is not negative.

Incidentally, more than four thousand people have been infected in Chandpur since the beginning of Corona.
