It is learned that a program to distribute humanitarian food aid as a gift to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was taken up by the Ministry of Relief and Disaster Management among the helpless poor people affected by the Corona across the country.
Under the national program, the humanitarian food aid of the Prime Minister was handed over to one thousand helpless affected people of Nabinagar Upazila under the management of Brahmanbaria district administration and local upazila administration this afternoon.
Each packet of food aid contains 10 kg of rice, sugar, oil, semai, onion, pulses and other ingredients.
Local MP Ebadul Karim Bulbul presided over the function and distributed one thousand food packets titled ‘Gift of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’ among the poor as the chief guest under the chairmanship of UNO Ekramul Siddique. Deputy Commissioner Hayat Ud Daula Khan was the special guest.
Also present were Upazila Chairman Moniruzzaman Monir, Mayor Advocate Shiv Shankar Das, Additional Superintendent of Police Maqbool Hossain, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Iqbal Hasan, OC Aminur Rashid and local Awami League leaders.
Ekramul Siddique, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Nabinagar, who is in charge of managing this huge work in compliance with the government’s health rules and due diligence, told Kaler Kantha: The administration is giving special thanks.
Meanwhile, local MP Ebadul Karim inaugurated the procurement of paddy from the farmers at the premises fixed by the government at the premises of the local food warehouse.
