Advocate Jahangir Kabir Nanak, a member of the presidium of the Awami League, said that Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina had returned that day and was standing tall in this corona crisis in Bangladesh. He was speaking as a special guest at a discussion organized by Dhaka Metropolitan North Awami League on the occasion of Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s Homecoming Day on Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital on Monday.
Jahangir Kabir Nanak said, ‘This day is a special day for the people of Bengal, the followers of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the pro-independence forces. Because if this day had not come in the history of Bangladesh, then the name of Bangabandhu Mujib would have been removed from the history of this country. Bangabandhu’s two daughters, Sheikh Hasina and Sheikh Rehana, survived because of their stay abroad during the brutal assassination on 15 August. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who is in power for the third time in a row, is still facing an invisible storm. He further said, “As the country was moving forward on various indicators, it was becoming a real golden Bengal – just then the barrier of global epidemic came. The whole nation is now fighting against Corona. It does not stop trying to cross the coral grass. All this has been possible under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina, daughter of Bangabandhu. He is the savior of the helpless. He is the guide, the leader of the revolution of economic liberation.
Awami League General Secretary and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, who was the chief guest at the discussion, addressed the gathering from his official residence. The meeting was presided over by Sadek Khan, vice-president of Dhaka Metropolitan North Awami League.
Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbub-ul Alam Hanif, Organizing Secretary Mirza Azam, Science and Technology Secretary Engineer Abdus Sabur, Central Executive Member Anwar Hossain, Shahabuddin Faraji, Dhaka Metropolitan North General Secretary SM Mannan Kochi and others spoke at the end of Bangabandhu Avenue.
