The country’s main stock market Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the other stock market Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) are trading today with the rise in the index. Sources said that on Tuesday (May 25), the third working day of the week, half an hour after the start of trading – that is, at 10:30 am, the DSE general index DSEX rose 46 points to 5,691 points. The DSE Shariah Index rose by 7 points and the DSE-30 Index by 11 points to 127 and 2174 points respectively. Shares and units of mutual funds worth Tk 390.91 crore were traded during the period.
Of the companies traded during the period, shares of 205 companies rose, 69 fell and 61 remained unchanged.
The top 10 companies traded till 10:30 am were Beximco Limited, Northern Insurance, Kattali Textile, NRBC Bank, Prime Bank, Aman Feed, Ring Shine, Saif Power, Lube-Ref and Maxon Spinning.
In the first 5 minutes of trading, the DSE index increased by 27 points. Then at 10:10 the index decreased by 2 points from the previous position. Then the speed of the indicator can be seen upwards. At 10:15 am, the index rose 31 points to 5,063 points.
Meanwhile, half an hour after the start of trading at 10:30 am, the CASPI index of the Chittagong Stock Exchange rose 97 points to 18,034 points. Then the speed of the indicator can be seen upwards.
Shares and mutual fund units worth Tk 8 crore 54 lakh were traded on the CSE till 10:30 am. During this time, the prices of 69 companies have increased and the prices of 29 companies have decreased. The share prices of 25 companies remained unchanged. The body of poet Habibullah Siraj has been brought to the academy premises to pay homage to people of all walks of life. Habibullah Siraj’s body was brought to Bangla Academy from the cold storage of Bangladesh Specialized Hospital at 9:55 am on Tuesday (May 25). Here, his last homage is being paid on the Nazrul Mancha of the Bangla Academy.
AHM Lokman, Secretary and Acting Director General of Bangla Academy, told the media that the first janaza will be held here after paying last respects at the premises of Bangla Academy. He will be buried at Azimpur cemetery after the second janaza.
Earlier, he passed away at 11 pm on Monday (May 24) while undergoing treatment at Bangladesh Specialized Hospital in the capital. Habibullah Siraji clone was diagnosed with cancer. He was admitted to the hospital on April 28 due to stomach problems. The next day, April 26, he underwent surgery. After that, he went to Life Support.
