A team of divers has recovered the body of Abdul Karim (25) who went missing in Dakatia river at Hajiganj in Chandpur. The incident took place at noon on Thursday in the Toragarh-Barakul ferry area of Toragarh village under Ward 7 of the municipality. Abdul Karim is the son of late Daimuddin of Fakir Bari in Toragarh village under the municipality.
Karim drowned while taking a bath in the Dakatiya river on Thursday afternoon. Upon receiving the news, a three-member diving team of Chandpur Fire Service rescued the body. Earlier, Hajiganj Fire Service and Hajiganj Police came to the spot.
Irene and Shahin, sisters of the missing youth, said that Karim still goes to bathe in the Dakatiya river like every day. He then drowned in the middle of the river while swimming from the north bank to the south bank.

One of them was seriously injured in a road accident and the others are undergoing treatment at hospitals and homes.
Jannatul Ferdous Panna, a former executive member of DRU, was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital on May 17 in critical condition due to stomach and liver problems. He is currently undergoing treatment at Sheikh Russell Gastroliver Hospital under the supervision of specialist doctors.
Another former executive member of the organization, Kamruzzaman Bablu, was admitted to Dhanmondi Ibn Sina Hospital on May 24 due to chest pain. At present he is Dr. He is being treated at home under the care of MA Baker.
Journalist Ziadur Rahman Jihad was seriously injured when he was hit by a reckless covered van at Kakrail in the capital on May 21. Apart from his right eye, nose, face and both hands, he has injuries in different parts of his body. It also broke some of his teeth. He is currently undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital-Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute.
Abu Horaira Tamim, a senior reporter of Ekushey Television, was admitted to Agargaon Neurology Hospital in the capital on May 20 after contracting the GPS virus. He is currently at home. He is often paralyzed from head to toe due to being infected with the GPS virus.
