The elder brother was stabbed to death in Narayanganj’s Sonargaon. The incident took place at Jampur Gudaraghat village in Jampur union of the upazila after Friday prayers. The body will be sent to the morgue for autopsy. Sonargaon police said a case was being processed in the incident.
According to police and local sources, Kiran, 30, son of Shah Jamal of Jampur Union of the upazila, pressured his parents for drug money after Friday prayers and started abusing and beating them in vulgar language. At one stage, drug addict Kiran went to beat his father with a knife, but his mother and brother Mehedi Hasan, Gaffar came forward to save his father. At one point in the clash of the three brothers, the knife in Kiran’s hand went into her own stomach.
When Kiran was taken to the two and a half thousand health complex in critical condition, the doctor on duty referred her to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. He died of excessive bleeding on the way to Dhamme. Kiran’s mother was injured in the incident. Locals said the people of the house had fled after the incident.
Sonargaon police OC said. Confirming the incident, Hafizur Rahman said the body of the deceased was recovered and sent to Narayanganj District Hospital Morgue for autopsy. The case is under process.
Sharmi Mistry, 18, a meritorious HSC first year student of Banaripara Degree College in Barisal, has been mysteriously missing for the past six days. She is the only daughter of Fani Mistry, a businessman from Ward No. 1 of Banaripara Municipality.
It is learned that Sharmi has not been found since he went out on the street in front of their house on Sunday (May 23) evening. He was not found in all possible places including relatives. It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post.
A written complaint has been lodged with Banaripara police station in this regard. In this regard, Banaripara Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Zafar Ahmed said, the police are working to unravel the mystery of Sharmi’s disappearance and rescue him.
