Three people, including two children, are still missing after a trawler sank in the Padma River at Jajira in Shariatpur. Four more people in the trawler were missing.
A 35-year-old man died after slipping from a platoon in the Sadarghat terminal area of the capital. Sadarghat Naval Police later recovered his body and sent it to Sir Salimullah Medical College Mitford Morgue for autopsy.
Witnesses said the youth was walking with a platoon at Sadarghat terminal around 9pm on Thursday. Suddenly, he slipped and fell into the water between the two platoons. Immediately submerged in water. His body was found floating in front of the platoon around 12 noon on Friday.
Sadarghat Naval Police SI said. Shahidul Islam said, I heard in public that the man fell from the platoon on Thursday night. The man was wearing a check lungi and a blue flower sleeve shirt. The body was recovered and sent to Sir Salimullah Medical College Mitford Hospital Morgue. A case has been filed with South Keraniganj Police Station in this regard.
