Five youths have been arrested in Badarganj of Rangpur on charges of drug smuggling and consumption. A case has been filed against them under the Narcotics Act at Badarganj Police Station. They were arrested from Chandugowala’s Chatal in Mantribazar area of Badarganj municipality at midnight on Friday (May 26). The arrested are Chandan Goala’s son Madak Samrat Choyan Goala (26), Bakul Mia’s son Fazle Rabbi Shuvo (23), Obaidul Haque’s son Kabila alias Shuvo (25), Anish Sardar’s son Rezwan Sardar (25) and Khalil Mia (26). The arrested have been sent to Rangpur Jail on Saturday (29).
According to police and local sources, Chandu Gowla’s son Choyan Gowla’s minister has been consuming yaba at his residence in Bazar area for a long time. Police raided the place on Friday night and arrested them. They are accused of selling and buying phencidyl and yaba in Badarganj and surrounding areas. But the police could not arrest them in any way.
The parents of some of the youths who were endangered by drug use, who did not want to be named, expressed their displeasure and said that there are several drug syndicates in Badarganj municipality. They are led by a few influential people. In front of the eyes of the police, they are trapping young people day after day and making them addicted to drugs. School-college-going Komalmati students are falling into their trap and facing defeat. They requested the administration to conduct regular operations.
Badarganj Police Station OC Habibur Rahman said five people, including 31 pieces of yaba, were arrested from Choyan Goyal’s house on the basis of secret information. He said efforts were being made to arrest others in the group.

After completing the memorization of the Holy Qur’an by his father, Maulana Nazrul Hafiz Nadvi was admitted to Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulama for higher studies. After completing Alamiyyat and Fazilat in 1972, he started teaching in the Arabic language and literature department of this traditional institution. In 1985, Shams completed a B.Ed. degree in education from Egyptian law. In 1972, he completed his PhD in Arabic language and literary criticism at the world-famous Al-Azhar University. He then re-appointed Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulama as the head of the Arabic language and literature department.
Maulana Nazrul Hafiz Nadvi was a devoted disciple and student of world renowned scholar and responsible Allama Syed Abul Hasan Ali Nadvi (Rah.). He received spiritual instruction from her.
