There are five ways that Satan deceives people

The beginning of Satan’s enmity with mankind from the time of creation. He promises to deviate mankind before God Almighty. Irshad said, ‘Allah curses him and he says, I will surely follow a certain part of your servants. I will lead them astray. ‘ (Surah An-Nisa ‘, verses 118-119)

God has repeatedly warned them to protect themselves from Satan’s desire for revenge. Forbidden to follow in his footsteps. Irshad said, “O you who believe, do not follow in the footsteps of Satan.” (Surah Noor, verse: 21)

Purpose by Satan’s ‘Footsteps’ : In the Holy Qur’an, Allah forbids following in Satan’s footsteps. Allama Ibn Katheer (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the purpose of Satan’s ‘footsteps’ is his path, method of action and the work he directs. According to Abdullah ibn Abbas, the purpose of Satan’s work is to follow in his footsteps. Qatada (Rah.) Said that every sinful deed is included in the footsteps of Satan. (Tafsir Ibn Kathir)

Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen (may Allah be pleased with him) said,’ All the deeds which Allah has forbidden are included in the footsteps of Satan; I want arrogance, lying, jokes, whatever. Because Satan commands him, preaches him, and calls on him. ‘ (Tafsirul Fatiha wal Bakara: 2/232)

That is why it is forbidden to follow in the footsteps of Satan  : In 4 places in the Holy Qur’an, Allah forbids following in the footsteps of Satan. In these places the harmful aspects of following in the footsteps of Satan have been highlighted.

1. Satan is the enemy of man : Satan is the enemy of man, he wants the evil of man. Irshad said, ‘Do not follow in the footsteps of Satan. Surely he is your open enemy. ‘ (Surat al-An’am: 142)

2.  Satan shows the way to the evil life : Allah the Almighty says, ‘O mankind, eat from that which is lawful and holy in the earth, and do not follow in the footsteps of Satan. Surely he is your open enemy. ‘ (Surat al-Baqara, 18)

3. Prevents obedience to God: Satan forbids people to obey God and surrender to Him. Irshad said, ‘O you who believe, enter Islam wholeheartedly and do not follow in the footsteps of Satan. Surely he is your open enemy. ‘ (Surat al-Baqara, Ayat: 207)

4. Satan instructs obscenity and evil deeds : The Holy Qur’an says, ‘O you who believe, do not follow in the footsteps of Satan. If anyone follows in the footsteps of the devil, then the devil instructs obscenity and evil deeds. ‘ (Surah Noor, verse: 21)

The way Satan deceives people : Satan deceives people in many ways. As a result, he followed in her footsteps. The Holy Qur’an describes various tricks of Satan to deceive. Here are some of his descriptions.

1. False hopes : Satan deceives people by creating false hopes. Allah says, ‘He makes promises and creates false desires in the minds of people. In fact, what Satan promises them is nothing but deception. ‘ (Surat an-Nisa ‘: 120)

2.  Makes evil deeds beautiful: Satan makes people’s evil deeds beautiful and beautiful. As a result, people do not hesitate to do so. Irshad said, ‘Satan makes evil deeds beautiful and attractive in their eyes. In this way, it hinders them from following the straight path. (Surah Ankabut, verse: 36)

3. Fear in the mind : Satan causes fear in the mind of man. As a result, he cannot be a pioneer in good deeds. Allah says, “Satan threatens you with poverty and enjoins miserliness.” (Surat al-Baqara, 27)

4. Intoxicated and enchanted : Satan enchants people with sins like drugs, gambling and fortune telling. Irshad has said, ‘O you who believe! So get rid of them so that you may be successful. ‘ (Surat al-Ma’ida, 90)

5. Lure : the gravy or the lure of the devil, the people engaged in illegal income. In the Holy Qur’an, it has been said, “Those who consume usury will surely be like the person (on the Day of Resurrection) whom Satan has deprived of sound knowledge by his touch.” (Surat al-Baqara, Ayat 275)

Ways to protect oneself from the hands of the devil: It is the duty of the believer to survive the deceptions and deceptions of the devil. Here are some things to do to avoid the devil:

1. To make Satan an enemy : Allah has told Satan to be an enemy. So that he cannot cheat. Irshad said, ‘Satan is your enemy; So accept him as an enemy. ‘ (Surah Fatir, verse: 6)

2. Perseverance in Faith : Whoever is firm in faith and trusts in Him, Allah will protect him from Satan. Irshad said, “Surely he has no authority over those who believe and rely on their Lord.” (Surah Fatir, verse: 99)

3. Remembrance of Allah : Deviation from the remembrance of Allah increases the influence of Satan on a person. Irshad said, “Satan has influenced them, so they have forgotten the remembrance of Allah.” (Surah Mujadala, verse: 19)

4. Seek refuge with Allah, the Holy Qur’an, seek refuge with Allah says: “Say: O my Lord, I seek refuge in You from the whispers of Satan.” (Surah Al-Muminun, verse 97)

5. Being a loyal servant of Allah: The loyal servants of Allah are free from the influence of Satan. He said, “You have no power over My servants.” (Surah Al-Hijr, verse 42)
