Indian children are orphans in Corona

The first five-year-old and his 10-month-old brother Ayush lost their father in Corona last April. The mother, who was being treated at another hospital in Delhi, also died 10 days after losing her father. As a result, they both became orphans.

They don’t even know that their world has changed. They also do not understand why their parents are not coming home after so long.

Relatives told Prothom that their parents had gone out for work. But even after that he wants to know about his parents again and again. Day by day it is becoming difficult to handle them.

At one stage, the first relatives contacted the Delhi-based non-governmental organization (NGO). NGO workers think that someone can adopt Pratham and his brother.

Like Prothom and Ayush, 12-year-old Sonia and her brother Amit (7) have lost their parents. They lost their father in June last year and their mother in April this year.

At least 57 parents of children died in Corona between April 1 and May 25 this year, Women and Children’s Affairs Minister Smriti Irani wrote in a recent tweet.

As a result, many children like Prothom and Ayush or Sonia are becoming orphans in India.

The version of the event, which has been postponed for more than 14 months, is being rolled out again. The Dhaka Premier League (DPL) for the 2019-20 season is starting in the T20 edition from today. With this edition of the World Cup at the end of the year, Dhaka Club Cricket’s governing body CCDM chief Kazi Inam Ahmed said it was part of preparations for the big event, “Since the World Cup is ahead, this time the tournament is being held in the T20 edition.”

Although the version was changed, Bangabandhu did not change the patron of DPL. Walton has sponsored the title of Dhaka League for the ninth time in a row. Executive Director Uday Hakim, Chief Marketing Officer Firoz Alam and Additional Director Milton Ahmed were present along with BCB officials when Walton was announced as the title sponsor at a press conference yesterday.

Mashrafe bin Mortuza, who played for Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi in the only round before being suspended on March 16 last year, has not played since the start of the league. The former captain, who recently lost his place in the national team, has confirmed himself, ‘I have not been playing since the beginning. But there are plans to play later. It is learned that the MP, who has been campaigning in his constituency in Narail for the past few days, has decided not to have enough time to work on fitness. Meanwhile, Tamim Iqbal will not be the captain even if he plays for Prime Bank Cricket Club. According to party sources, the ODI captain of the national team would have taken the lead if he had played in the ODI version. Enamul Haque Vijay will lead the team in place of Tamim.

Although Tamim did not tell the leadership, the biggest attraction of the league will be Shakib Al Hasan in the role of Mohammedan captain. The other two senior members of the team, Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmud Ullah, will be seen captaining the Abahani and Gazi Group cricketers, respectively. Three Abahani-Partex, Legends of Rupganj-Old DOHS and Prime Doleshwar-Brothers Union matches will be played on the opening day from 9 am today. Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi-Khelaghor, Prime Bank-Gazi Group and Mohammedan-Shinepukur matches from 1.30 pm.
