It was quite hot for a few days. In the meantime, school friends plan to visit. On the second day of Eid, I went on a trip to see the beauty of China Dam in Sirajganj. Pichdhala road has thick water on one side and sand on the other. Fair of white towers on the river bank. Many are watching the white wings of the tower in the blue sky.
Even in the heat, the afternoon of May 25 was cold. Rows and rows of boats are swinging on the river Jamuna. The whistling of the wind all around. Rivers on both sides. Standing on the green grass we find another ghat of the river. Water as far as the eye can see. The form of this dam shakes the mind. Mushfiqur Rahman captured these moments in a frame.
This is a great place for stories, songs and photo sessions. Numerous people have come to visit the dam. Someone is chatting with the family to get a chair. Someone is running around on a motorcycle. The children are drunk with joy. Lots of people together, yet no noise. There is fresh air. Several mobile shops were also seen. To keep the swing and merry-go-round tied on one side of the dam.
I went to visit six students of SSC 2013 and 2014 batch of ‘Cantonment Board High School Jahangirabad’ in Bogra. In the afternoon I took a private car from Fultala junction of Bogra city. After a couple of hours I reached Sirajganj. I went to China with Shubh, a young man known from the city.
The dam is built around the river bank, two kilometers away from the city. Adjacent to the dam is the boundary of the Bangladesh Water Development Board. The last end of the dam is two kilometers deeper than the main gate. An army official said the construction of the river bank protection dam is underway under the supervision of the Bangladesh Army. Public movement is prohibited in this protected area. The surroundings of the gate have been opened for tourism.
The Bangabandhu Bridge can be clearly seen from across the Jamuna. A local boatman said there are a few more dams near the China dam. All dams are beautiful in one way or another. In the afternoon more people come to the river bank. However, more people can be seen in this dam.
The whole afternoon was cut off at this dam. Keeping pace with the sun, our car also started running towards Sirajganj city. Niaz Morshed of SSC 2013 batch said, ‘After many days, I came to walk a little away from the city. Had a great time with childhood friends. Friends, everyone is happy to come together. ‘ He added, ‘A river bank is so beautiful, you can’t believe it. The China Dam has fascinated us. ‘
In the evening I went to Sirajganj city and entered a restaurant. Everyone ate hot khichuri in a cold environment. After saying goodbye to Anuj, I left for Bogra, the city of curd.
