Nine more people have died in the last 24 hours in the corona unit of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. All of them tested positive for corona. Rajshahi Medical College Hospital Deputy Director Saiful Ferdous confirmed the matter on Thursday morning.
With this, 8 people died in the corona unit of the hospital in 11 days from May 24 to June 3. Of these 6, 48 were affected by corona. Meanwhile, patient pressure is increasing in the corona wards of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. Compared to the previous day, the number of patients has increased to 224. The previous day 220 people were admitted.
Deputy Director Saiful Ferdous said nine people had died in the hospital in the last 24 hours. Of these nine, five are from Chapainawabganj, two from Rajshahi, one from Naogaon and one from Pabna. Among them, five died in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital, two in Ward No. 3 and one each in Ward No. 18 and 22. Their bodies have been advised to be buried according to hygiene rules.
According to hospital sources, deaths at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital have been increasing at an alarming rate since Eid. This number has risen alarmingly since the last week of May. Only 8 people died while undergoing treatment at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital from noon on May 24 to June 3. Of these, 47 were infected with corona. Others have died of corona symptoms. Of these, 10 were on May 24, 4 on May 25, 4 on May 26, 4 on May 26, 9 on May 26, 12 on May 30, 4 on May 31, 4 on May 1, 6 on Wednesday, June 2 and 6 on Wednesday. Nine more died at 9am on Thursday. In these 11 days, the death rate in Chapainawabganj is higher in the department, hospital sources said.
Meanwhile, the number of corona patients and corona patients is increasing at an alarming rate every day in the hospital. In the last 24 hours, 29 people have been admitted to the hospital. Of these, 14 are from Rajshahi, 11 from Chapainawabganj, three from Naogaon and one from Pabna. With this, a maximum of 224 patients have been admitted to Corona till 9 am today. The previous day, a maximum of 220 patients were admitted. Out of 224 patients, the highest number of patients is 101 in Rajshahi district and 97 in Chapainawabganj.
According to hospital authorities, the highest number of patients was admitted to the hospital at 136 during the first wave of corona last year. This time the number of patients is increasing every day. The doctors are having a hard time giving medical services.
Saiful Ferdous, deputy director of the hospital, said only those with low oxygen saturation and poor condition were being admitted.
