‘Made in Bangladesh’ products will get tax exemption

In the proposed budget for the fiscal year 2021-22, the Finance Minister has once again pledged to establish the ‘Made in Bangladesh’ brand. For this, he has proposed to give tax exemption for 10 years. The finance minister is presenting the budget for the next financial year in the parliament on Thursday.

The budget proposal said, “The government is committed to establishing the Made in Bangladesh brand in the interest of developing mega industries in the country and accelerating the import of alternative industries.” To this end, I am proposing to give 10 years conditional tax exemption to automobile-three wheeler and four wheeler manufacturing companies in Bangladesh and another 10 years conditional tax exemption.

Apart from this, I am proposing to give 10 years conditional tax exemption to some companies manufacturing home appliances and kitchen appliances products and light engineering products.

If this proposal is implemented, domestic producers will be encouraged.

In the last 24 hours in the country, the number of deaths and detection of coronavirus has decreased as compared to the previous day. Thirty people have died of coronavirus infection between 8am on Wednesday and 8am on Thursday. In the last 24 hours, 1,006 people have been diagnosed with coronary heart disease. This information has been informed in the press release of the health department on Thursday afternoon.

Thirty-four people died of coronavirus infection on Wednesday. Corona infection was detected in 1,096 people.

The total number of patients diagnosed with coronavirus in the country so far is 6 lakh 5 thousand 970 people. A total of 12,624 people died. 6 lakh 46 thousand 35 people have recovered from Corona.

In the last 24 hours, samples of 16 thousand 972 people have been tested. The detection rate is 9.94 percent considering the test.

According to the standards of the World Health Organization, the rate of patient identification is an indicator of understanding whether the situation is under control in a country. In a country where the patient detection rate is below 5 percent for at least two weeks in a row, the situation is under control.

In December 2019, the first new coronavirus infection occurred in Wuhan, China. Later it spread all over the world. The first corona infection was detected in the country on March 6 last year. Then the infection gradually increases. Towards the end of last year the infection began to decrease.

Corona infection has increased again since March this year. In the first half of March, the number of patients identified daily exceeded one thousand. The number of deaths is also increasing. The March 26 bulletin reported 34 deaths in the previous 24 hours, while the April 19 bulletin reported 112 deaths in the previous 24 hours. The highest number of deaths occurred in the country on the same day after the onset of corona infection.

Restrictions on human movement have been in place since April 5 as coronary infections and deaths continue to rise, which is still in effect. With these restrictions the situation has come under some control. In the middle of this month, the ‘lockdown’ centered on the holy Eid-ul-Fitr became loose. Seeing the huge crowd at Eid-centric shopping and travel, the public health experts and the Department of Health feared that the infection would increase again after Eid. Although the infection has not increased in that way yet, there is an upward trend since Eid. Meanwhile, the number of patients in 15 districts bordering India is increasing rapidly. Public health experts say the situation could worsen if effective measures are not taken now.
