In Noakhali, coronavirus infection has been detected in 126 more people in the last 24 hours. This is the highest detection in the last six months. In contrast to the sample test in 24 hours, the infection detection rate is 32.56 percent. However, no one has died in the district in the last 24 hours. The district civil surgeon’s office released the information on Friday night.
According to the Civil Surgeon’s Office, samples of 390 people were tested at two corona test centers in the district on Friday and corona infection was detected in 126 people.
According to sources, out of 128 people identified as positive, 75 are residents of Sadar upazila. Apart from the rest, there are 16 from Begumganj upazila, 11 from Sonaimuri, 2 from Chatkhil, 9 from Senbagh, 10 from Companiganj, 4 from Kabirhat, 2 from Hatiyar and 6 from Subarnachar.
District Civil Surgeon Masum Iftekhar said many people from outside the country came to Noakhali with coronavirus during the last Eid. In addition, many came from Dhaka, who had coronavirus in their body. Due to the free movement of those people, corona infection in the district is increasing rapidly after Eid. Every effort will be made to strictly implement the lockdown announced by the District Coronavirus Control Committee to bring corona infection under control in the current situation. The health department will not give any concession in this regard.
The Civil Surgeon said the houses concerned were being locked down through contact tracing of people identified as Corona. Besides, special instructions have been given to the people of nearby houses, members of various government agencies and people’s representatives to keep an eye on the houses of the victims.
