- Mehbooba Mufti stresses on the need for dialogue with Pakistan
- Talk to Pakistan for the betterment of the people of Jammu and Kashmir
- Mufti said that the trade of Jammu and Kashmir with Pakistan should be resumed
PDP President Mehbooba Mufti Has once again reiterated the need for dialogue with Pakistan. He said that I told the PM in the all-party meeting that if you people are talking to China, then also talk to Pakistan for the betterment of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. It is very much needed to restart the stalled trade between Jammu and Kashmir and Pakistan. Thousands of people have lost their jobs. Apart from this, there is a need to improve the atmosphere of arrest and strictness in the state.
PDP President Mehbooba Mufti said that Jammu and Kashmir was stripped of its special status on August 5, 2019. The people here are very angry with this decision of the central government and are feeling cheated. During the meeting, we have put forward the demand of the public. The BJP government has illegally removed Article 370. We will continue the agitation against it in a peaceful manner no matter how long it takes. Article 370 is our identity. We did not get this from Pakistan but from India. The first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru himself gave it to us.
We got full statehood again: Omar Abdullah
At the same time, National Conference Vice President and former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has said that such a meeting should be held with all the leaders of Jammu and Kashmir even before the removal of Article 370. Such a decision should have been taken only after taking the most opinion. Abdullah said that the decision to remove Article 370 cannot be accepted, but does not want the law in his hands against it. We have kept our words openly before the PM. The people of Jammu and Kashmir want that they should get full statehood as before.
