India suffered an eight-wicket defeat at the hands of New Zealand in the WTC Final (New Zealand Beat India WTC Final). The loss of two days’ game was due to rain and the result of the match came out on the sixth day (Reserve Day WTC). Virat’s performance in ICC tournaments has not been very good. India also lost in the ICC Champions Trophy 2017, World Cup semi-final 2019 under Kohli’s captaincy.

Swann, however, does not take such a harsh attitude towards Kohli. He says, “Virat Kohli is undoubtedly a champion and a superstar. He has made the Indian team very strong. Whenever the wicket falls, see the enthusiasm on his face. Look at the expressions on their faces when there is a misfield.

In an exclusive conversation with Sportskeeda, he said, “He is 100% dedicated towards his work. Removing Virat Kohli from the captaincy at this time, when you have such a good captain, it would be a crime against cricket. I don’t think there is a need to look for them anywhere else. India lost the match because their preparation was not complete.

Who is responsible for this crushing defeat of India in WTC Final?

Kohli is on target not only for his captaincy but also for his performance with the bat. He scored 44 runs in the first innings of the final of the World Test Championship, while he contributed 13 runs in the second innings. Both times he was victimized by Kylie Jamieson. Talking about the finals of ICC tournaments, his bat has remained calm. He could not touch the double figures in the 2017 Champions Trophy, 2019 World Cup semi-finals.
