The Uttarakhand High Court has pulled up the state government for allowing the Char Dham Yatra from July 1 despite the fear of a third wave of corona. The Uttarakhand High Court directed a review of the decision. The court said that there is a need to postpone or cancel the Yatra, referring to the cancellation of the Amarnath Yatra in Jammu and Kashmir.

Criticizing the government’s decision, the Uttarakhand High Court made a strong comment that big events always lead to a spike in the corona pandemic. In such a situation, the government should once again think about its decision.

‘Review the decision to start Char Dham Yatra’
The Court is of the view that a devastation like the Corona epidemic should not be invited again by organizing large gatherings at religious places and allowing Char Dham Yatra. Therefore, this court directs the state government to review its decision to start the Char Dham Yatra from July 1.

Chardham Yatra is going to start from July 1. In it Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamanotri are visited. In this lakhs of devotees visit Uttarakhand every year. The date for opening the doors of the holy religious places has been fixed for this year.
