american space agency NASA on saturday International Space Station (ISS) released a photo crossing the sun. In this picture, the seven frames of the ISS passing in front of the sun have been created by joining. In the picture, the International Space Station looks like a black spot in front of an orange-coloured sun. NASA said that this picture has been created by combining seven pictures taken on June 25, 2021 from near Nellisford, Virginia.
Two astronauts were on the spacewalk during the photo
Astronauts Shane Kimbrough and Thomas Pesquet were on a spacewalk outside the space station at the time of the transit, according to NASA. During this, both of them spent 6 hours 45 minutes in outer space. These astronauts have been working for the past several days to install powerful new solar panels outside the International Space Station. The speed of the International Space Station at the time of its orbit around the sun was eight kilometers per second.
ISS orbiting at a speed of 8 km per second
According to the US space agency, the space station is orbiting about 410 kilometers above the Earth. Astronauts managed to put the first solar wing in its place last week, but there were delays in adding electrical connections and laying the panel to its full 63-foot (19 m) length. These new solar fans are designed in such a way that they can be laid on the surface like a red carpet, which is completely different from the old one.
Russia also started preparations to build a space station
The Russian space agency Roscosmos has started work on building its space station after getting the approval of President Vladimir Putin. The agency has claimed that its second indigenous space station will be operational by 2030. Earlier in April 1971, Russia had launched a space station named Soyut-1. It is believed that this project will prove to be a milestone in the history of Russian space exploration.
Russia called America’s ISS dangerous
Since 1998, Russia has been operating NASA’s International Space Station along with many other countries including the US. Just a few days ago, Russia has declared the ISS as a junk, dangerous for astronauts. After this separation, Russia has now come to the need of its own space station. Roscosmos chief Dmitry Rogozin said that if we can put it into orbit according to its plans in 2030, it will be a great success.
