After sending a love letter to a class eight student in Indore district of MP, the enraged villagers beat up a private school teacher and shaved her half her head. By smearing his face with soot, he was burnt in the same condition by roaming in the whole village. The teacher has been arrested for sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl student after a video of Saturday’s incident went viral on social media, police said.
Manpur police station in-charge Hitendra Rathod said on Sunday that a 24-year-old teacher has been arrested in Khedi Sihod village, about 70 km from Indore, in connection with the incident. According to the station in-charge, an FIR has been registered against the teacher under the Indian Penal Code and Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act on charges of sexual harassment and intimidation.

Rathod told that the teacher is accused of stalking a class VIII student studying in his school. He had also sent a love letter to the minor girl recently. The station in-charge said that the teacher is also accused of threatening the class VIII student that if she does not accept his love request, the girl’s family will face dire consequences.

He said that an FIR has also been registered against the villagers for abusing, beating and misbehaving with the teacher under relevant sections. The station in-charge said that the villagers involved in the incident are being identified.
