Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Congress chief Ghulam Ahmed Mir has raised questions on the delimitation itself. After meeting with the Jammu and Kashmir Delimitation Commission, the Congress says that the party cannot say anything without seeing the draft of the delimitation. Congress’s Jammu and Kashmir chief Ghulam Ahmed Mir has raised the question that why the delimitation is being done only in 2021.

In Jammu and Kashmir, Congress chief Ghulam Ahmed Mir said after meeting with the Delimitation Commission that the country has to be delimited in 2026, then why is it being done in Jammu and Kashmir in 2021. He said that this is a big question. Until the statehood of Jammu and Kashmir is restored, the delimitation will be of no use.

PDP had made distance from the meeting and the commission
Earlier, the PDP had decided to stay out of the delimitation process, alleging that the commission lacked a “constitutional and legal mandate”. PDP general secretary Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura said that our party has decided to stay away from the proceedings.

Two days visit to Jammu and two days to Kashmir Division
The members of the Delimitation Commission will meet more than 200 delegations in the state. In the first two days, the members of the commission will be present in Kashmir and will meet a total of 60 delegations here. This will be followed by a visit to the areas of Jammu division, in which 155 delegations will meet the members of the commission.
