Hardik Pandya, who has been away from bowling for a long time after back surgery, has bowled in the nets and the Indian team management will decide on getting him bowling in the upcoming series against Sri Lanka.
Indian team batsman Suryakumar Yadav said on Tuesday that, ‘Pandya has bowled in the nets and intra squad matches, but it is up to him and the team management how he wants to play him, he bowled which is a good sign. ‘
Bowling was done against England
Pandya had bowled in the series against England in the limited overs series against England in March this year. He didn’t bowl during the IPL as it was his and the team management’s decision. He took three wickets while bowling 17 overs in five T20 matches, besides bowling nine overs in the third ODI.
Hardik Pandya stats

Pandya recently told our colleague Times of India Sportscast, ‘My focus is on the World Cup. I want to make sure that I can bowl till the time of the T20 World Cup. I don’t want to miss this opportunity.
Suryakumar happy with aggressive role
Apart from this, Suryakumar Yadav also highlighted his role in the team. He says that he is happy with his aggressive role while batting at any position. According to the report of Cricbuzz, Suryakumar said, ‘I think I will do the same thing that I have done for the franchise in the IPL. Even in my debut series against England, I didn’t do anything different. I enjoy my offensive role no matter where I am asked to bat. I will remain like this. I will play here as I have been playing.
Reacted to Ranatunga’s statement as well
Recently, former Sri Lankan captain Arjuna Ranatunga had termed the Indian team that toured Sri Lanka as a second-rate team and criticized Sri Lanka Cricket for agreeing to a series with this team. Suryakumar said, ‘We are not thinking about this. Everyone is just concentrating. It is good the way the practice season is going and we are all looking forward to this challenge. We are not thinking about anything else. We are just here to have fun and while enjoying this series, we want to take some positives out of it.
