DA And DR has been increased from 17 per cent to 28 per cent. This increase has come into effect from July 1, 2021. Employees can get increased salary this month.
Notification will be issued in this regard by the government. If the notification is issued in a day or two, then the increased salary will be available this month. If there is a delay in the issuance of the notification, then in the first week of the next month, the employees will get the money of increased salary as arrears. Generally, the work of making salary of central government employees starts from the 16th of every month.

Detail information has not been given by the Central Government about the payment of outstanding DA for the last two times. The government will give further information about this. The increase in DA will benefit 60 lakh pensioners and 52 lakh central employees. The decision was taken at a meeting of the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday. Due to the Kovid-19 pandemic, the government had banned the DA of central employees and Dearness Relief (DR) of pensioners.
Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur gave this information in a press conference. He said that the government has decided to increase the DA from 17 per cent to 28 per cent. This will put a burden of Rs 34,401 crore on the exchequer every year.

Central employees currently get 17% DA. But, by adding the last three installments, it will now become 28 percent. DA was increased by 4 per cent in January 2020, then by 3 per cent in June 2020 and by 4 per cent in January 2021.
Dearness Allowance is a part of salary. It is a fixed part of the basic salary of the employee. To reduce the effect of inflation in the country, the government pays dearness allowance to its employees. It is extended from time to time. Pensioners also get the benefit of Dearness Relief (DR). For calculating DA, the government takes the inflation rate based on the All India Consumer Price Index as the basis and on this basis the DA of government employees is revised every two years.
