The Afghan National Security Forces on Friday freed Spin Boldak from Taliban capture. Afghanistan Government sources have confirmed this claim to Russian news agency Sputnik. Spin Boldak is the same place where Indian journalist Danish Siddiqui lost his life in an attack on Afghan security forces. Danish had been covering the war-like situation in Afghanistan with the Taliban for a long time.
Videos that surfaced on social media showed a grand welcome to Afghan soldiers. In another video, Taliban fighters were seen fleeing to Pakistan where they were ‘welcomed’ by forces from across the border. At the same time, the local Taliban commander has denied these claims. Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid also shared a video of the fighters stationed on the streets of the street.
Earlier, on the outskirts of Kandahar province, Spin Boldak was captured by the Taliban on 14th. After about 20 years, it was caught in the clutches of the Taliban. At the same time, news reports have also claimed that the treatment of Taliban fighters injured by the Afghan army is going on in Chaman town of Balochistan province. This hospital is said to be across the border of Spin Boldak.
Photojournalist awarded Pulitzer Prize for Taliban attack in Afghanistan Danish Siddiqui had died. Danish was with the Afghan Special Forces in the Spin Boldak district of Afghanistan and was reporting for Reuters news agency. He had done many stories of national and international importance.
