Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s all-party meeting is going on regarding Corona management. Congress, Akali Dal and Aam Aadmi Party have not participated in this. Leaders of many opposition parties including Shiv Sena, NCP, TMC, NCP are involved in this meeting being held in Parliament House.
In the meeting, floor leaders of all parties (leaders of parties in both the houses of Parliament) were invited for this. It is believed that in the meeting, the Health Secretary will give a detailed presentation on the situation of Corona.
Several parties including AIADMK, Shiv Sena, NCP, Biju Janata Dal, Tamil Manila Congress, TMC, JDS, TRS, YRCP, LJP, BSP, JDU are participating in the meeting.
The main opposition Congress has not attended the all-party meeting called by the PM. Aam Aadmi Party and Akali Dal have also boycotted the meeting. Earlier, Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge said the Congress was not boycotting the meeting but would not participate in it. She wants the government to keep facts on Corona in both the houses of Parliament.
Akali Dal, a former ally of the ruling BJP, was also not attending the meeting. Even before the meeting, party chief Sukhbir Singh Badal made it clear that his party would not take part in any meeting with the Prime Minister till the meeting on agricultural laws and farmers’ movement was held.
The Aam Aadmi Party has also boycotted the all-party meeting. The party’s Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh tweeted, ‘Aam Aadmi Party will not attend the PM’s meeting. The farmers’ issue needs to be resolved first, Prime Minister, the entire country has suffered in the corona pandemic, when there was a need to save the lives of the people, you were busy in rallies, now why the rituals?’
