There was an atmosphere of fear in the Indian camp at the Tokyo Olympics when a wrong entry in the health status application sounded the COVID-19 alarm on Wednesday. Deputy Chef de Mission Prem Verma, however, clarified that no one has shown symptoms of the virus and there was no positive case.
IOA president Narinder Batra asked deputy chef de Mission Verma for a clear picture after three Indian officials were shown with symptoms in the Health Report App (OCHA), but the second app had no such details. Verma replied that no one had symptoms and that some who were using the app for the first time had made a wrong entry.
He said that wrong information had been entered in updating health records. There is no positive case. If you give wrong information about your health record then alarm sounds in app and CLO gets a mail to rectify it.
For example, if you accidentally record your temperature as 38 Celsius, the CLO will be alerted by the infection control software, he said. However, there is no positive case in Team India.
