The government has told the Parliament about the possible reasons why the third wave of corona epidemic may come in the country. In a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha on Friday, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said that the third wave of corona will either come due to the mutation of the virus or due to the vulnerable population. Apart from this, it will also depend on many pharmaceutical and non-pharma factors related to corona management.
In his written reply, Mandaviya said that the severity of the infection can be avoided through vaccination and will help in herd immunity. He said that the vaccine is not only protecting against infection, but it is also reducing the severity of the disease, hospitalization and deaths.
Mandaviya clarified from the experts on the arrival of third wave and the apprehensions of children being affected the most due to the delta variant. He said that there is no scientific evidence neither in India nor anywhere else in the world that corona is more vulnerable to children, the same is the case with the delta variant.
Mandaviya said that the government is fully committed towards early vaccination of 100 percent people above the age of 18 years against corona. He advised the opposition not to do politics on this. He said that instead of doing politics on this subject, the opposition should together encourage the vaccination campaign and give answers to those who spread confusion.
