A maximum of 246 deaths in a single day, a record in patient identification

Corona has the highest number of deaths and patient identification records in a single day in the country. In the last 24 hours (Sunday from 8 am to 8 am today), 246 people have died due to corona. In contrast to the test, the patient identification rate stood at 29.62 percent. In the previous 24 hours, 228 people died in Corona. At that time 11 thousand 291 patients were identified. The patient identification rate was 30.04 percent. According to a press release issued by the Department of Health, the total number of patients diagnosed with corona in the country so far stands at 11 lakh 79 thousand 728. A total of 19 thousand 521 people died. And after being infected with corona, 10 lakh 9 thousand 975 people have recovered so far. 11 thousand 52 people have recovered in the last 24 hours.

In the last 24 hours, 72 people have died in Dhaka division. In Chittagong division 61 people died and in Khulna division 48 people died. The rest are from other departments.

In December 2019, the first new coronavirus infection occurred in Wuhan, China. Within a few months, the virus spread around the world. The first corona infection was detected in Bangladesh on March 8 last year. Since then, although the infection has been less at different times, the situation in the country has reached alarming levels for about two months. Coronary delta-type seizures have multiplied daily infections and deaths.

In the first two weeks of this month, the country observed strict restrictions to control the infection. During this time all types of offices as well as public transport were closed. The two-week lockdown has resumed since last Friday after the ban was relaxed for eight days on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha on July 21.

Experts warned that the spread of the disease could increase as millions of people travel from town to village and back during the Eid holidays. The National Technical Committee on Corona Control expressed deep concern over the government’s decision to relax restrictions on Eid.

Bangladesh ranks 12th in terms of patient identification. The World Health Organization has made this list considering the number of corona patients identified and the number of deaths in the last 24 hours around the world.
