In Bangalore, in the first ten days of August, 499 children have been found to be Kovid-19 positive. After such a large number of children were found infected, a worrying situation has arisen for their parents. There has been a stir in the state. Here some people have expressed the possibility of children being hit by the third wave.
Health department officials said that about 88 children in the age group of 0 to 9 years and 305 children in the age group of 10 to 19 years have been found infected with corona. Out of 499 cases, 263 cases were reported in the last five days. Of these, 88 children are between 0 and 9 years and 175 children are between 10 and 19 years.
Cases may triple in a few days
The Health Department has considered this development as a worrying situation and has started taking strict steps to prevent the infection. Sources in the Health Department say that in the coming few weeks this number could be three times more than this.
…so there may be a partial lockdown
Statistics show that 106 of these children are below 9 years of age, whereas, 136 children are between 9 and 19 years of age. Some media reports have speculated that the state government may impose a partial lockdown from August 16.
Vaccination doses will be increased
The Karnataka government has already announced night and weekend curfew in the districts adjoining these states due to the poor situation arising out of Kovid in the neighboring states of Kerala and Maharashtra. Only passengers with RT-PCR certificate are being allowed to move. Meanwhile, the new Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has promised to increase the vaccine dosage from 65 lakh to 1 crore per month.

The state is recording an average of over 1,500 Covid cases and 15,919 deaths due to the virus so far. At least 19 children between the ages of 0 and 9 years have died and 26 children in the age group of 10 to 19 have lost their lives. Therefore, 45 children in the age group of 0 to 19 years have died. 279 people in the age group of 20 to 30 have lost their lives to the deadly coronavirus.
