In view of the rapidly changing situation in Afghanistan, the US is going to send additional troops to bring back some more personnel from the embassy in Kabul. An official of the government led by US President Joe Biden gave this information on Thursday.

The official said these troops will assist in the return of American citizens from Afghanistan and provide them with airfare and security. The order in this regard has not been made public yet.

Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby announced that the US Department of Defense would send troops to Afghanistan to evacuate Embassy personnel from Kabul. John Kirby said 3 infantry battalions would be transferred to Kabul airport in the next 24-48 hours. That’s about 3,000 soldiers.
