To those who ‘celebrated’ the Taliban occupation of Afghanistan Indian Muslim for Secular Democracy (IMSD) has shown the mirror. He has sharply criticized the Taliban’s “symbols” in the country. According to IMSD, it was because of the Taliban that Muslims all over the world had to face embarrassment.
The Indian Muslim for Secular Democracy (IMSD) called it “shameful” the show of “enthusiasm” over the Taliban occupation in Afghanistan. On Monday, it said it was the same Taliban that presented the “most brutal version” of Islam. Due to this, not only the Muslims were maligned all over the world but also had to bear the ‘brunt’ of it. In a statement signed by 138 intellectuals from different professions, the Indian government has been urged to open its doors to people of all religions in Afghanistan.
According to the statement, the enthusiasm shown by a section of Indian Muslims and (some) religious leaders towards the Taliban is very shameful. The list also includes office bearers of All India Muslim Personal Law Board like Maulana Umrain Mahfouz Rahmani and Maulana Sajjad Nomani and people of Jamaat-e-Islami-Hind.
