In Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar on Sunday, farmers demonstrated their strength by performing a mahapanchayat. Organized by the Bharatiya Kisan Union, thousands of farmers came from 15 states in this mahapanchayat. During this, the United Kisan Morcha announced that it would campaign against the BJP in the upcoming UP assembly elections. On this, Union Minister Sanjeev Balyan has said that if Kisan Morcha wants to enter politics then BJP will welcome him.
Muzaffarnagar MP Sanjeev Balyan said that the farmers’ movement has now taken a political colour. Everyone has the right to do politics. If United Kisan Morcha wants to enter politics, we will welcome them.
People from outside states tried to spoil the atmosphere
A large number of people from the Sikh and Muslim community also participated in the Kisan Mahapanchayat. On this, Union Minister Balyan said that the organizers of the Mahapanchayat are responsible people. The atmosphere of the Mahapanchayat should be peaceful, it should have been so. However, many people who came from outside tried to spoil the atmosphere here. I am sure the organizers will take care of this.
There is a call to remove BJP from power.
It is worth mentioning that in this day long Mahapanchayat, leaders including Rakesh Tikait, Yogendra Yadav and Medha Patkar addressed the farmers. Thousands of security forces were deployed inside and outside the GIC ground. The farmers demanding the withdrawal of the central agricultural laws, shouted for the removal of BJP from power. So far 10 rounds of talks have been held between the Central Government and the farmers’ representatives but till now no solution has been found in this matter.
Slogans of Allahu Akbar and Har Har Mahadev
Rakesh Tikait had arrived from Meerut to take part in the Mahapanchayat. During his address, Tikait raised slogans of Allahu Akbar and Har Har Mahadev from the stage. Tikait said, ‘Slogans of Allahu Akbar and Har-Har Mahadev used to be chanted earlier and will continue to do so. These people are doing the work of dividing. We have to stop them. We will not allow the land of UP to belong to the rioters.
‘Will even die if needed’
Rakesh Tikait said, ‘We take a pledge that we will not leave the dharna site there (on the borders of Delhi), even if our grave is built there. We will also give our lives if needed but will not leave the dharna till we are victorious.
We do not know how many years the movement will last.
The BKU spokesperson said, ‘The farmers’ movement will continue as long as the Government of India gets it started. Till they do not agree, the movement will go on. When the government talks, we will. The freedom struggle in the country lasted for 90 years, we do not know how many years this movement will last. Targeting the monetization policy of the Modi government, Rakesh Tikait said, ‘Now this mission is not UP, now it is Mission India. We have to save the Constitution of India. Modi government and Yogi government are preparing to sell electricity, airport everything.
