On the occasion of the golden jubilee of independence, the rally with 50 national flags will go around 64 districts of the country. Each flag will be carried by a heroic freedom fighter. Following this, flags were handed over among the freedom fighters at Sirajdikhan in Munshiganj.
Earlier on Thursday night, Shamsul Haque, a freedom fighter from Tongibari, handed over the flag to the Upazila Nirbahi Officer and the heroic freedom fighters.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer Syed Faizul Islam handed over the flag to freedom fighter Abdul Matin Hawlader at 9am on Friday (April 2) at the Upazila Parishad premises.
Former deputy commander of the district freedom fighters Shamsuddin Ahmed Khair, Haji Tajul Islam, Abu Siddique, Golam Mostafa, Haji Delwar Hossain and many others were present at the time.
The freedom fighters marched around the main roads of 14 unions of the upazila and handed them over to the Srinagar Upazila Nirbahi Officer and freedom fighters in the evening.
One person has died in Bogra after being attacked by a new corona. A total of 284 people died in the district. On Friday, 11 people were newly infected. And 4 people have recovered anew.
According to the Bogra Civil Surgeon’s Office, the deceased was identified as Tapan Kumar, 45, of Naruli area in Bogra. He died at Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College (Shajimek) Hospital on Thursday night.
In the last 24 hours (April 1), 10 of the new victims are residents of Bogra Sadar Upazila and another is a resident of Sherpur Upazila of the district. A total of 195 samples were tested. Of these, 10 out of 169 samples tested positive in Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College and Hospital and 1 out of 6 samples tested positive in TMSS Hospital of the district. As of Friday, 10,426 people had been infected with corona in the district and the number of recovery cases stood at 9,636. Besides, a total of 264 people died due to the death of one new person. At present, 328 people are undergoing treatment in Corona as a government.
Mirza Azam MP, organizing secretary of Bangladesh Awami League, said that the means of healthy entertainment is to play sports. Through play, a player can maintain his physical fitness as well as free himself from the terrible clutches of drugs.
He was speaking at the quarter-final rally of the Mujib Centenary Football Tournament in Jamalpur on Friday (April 2) afternoon.
He further said that if regular games are held at the national level starting from the district, on the one hand such good players will come out, on the other hand the spectators will also be a means of entertainment.
And that goal is being taken forward under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
