Railway Minister Nurul Islam Sujon confirmed the matter on Saturday afternoon. He said passenger trains, like other modes of transport, would be closed at the lockdown. However, emergency freight trains will run. A notification in this regard will be issued by the Ministry of Public Administration in the evening.
Earlier, state minister for public administration Farhad Hossain had said that the factory would remain open on condition of compliance with the health rules. The state minister said this in a video message from his residence on Saturday.
Farhad Hossain said, “In the interest of curbing the fast-growing corona infection, the government is going to decide on a nationwide lockdown in two to three days for a week.” In that case, the emergency services will remain open during the lockdown. And industrial factories will remain open. The workers should be able to work in the factory by following the hygiene rules and various shifts. ‘
Earlier this morning, Awami League General Secretary and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader announced the government’s decision on the lockdown at a virtual briefing at his residence.
