In the last 24 hours (from 8 am on Friday to 8 am on Saturday), 5,063 patients infected with corona have been identified, according to a regular press release from the health department. And in the last 24 hours, 58 people have died due to corona infection.
A total of 6,630 patients were diagnosed with corona in the country on Friday. And 50 people died. The day b
efore, 6,469 people were identified on Thursday. The Department of Health reported 59 deaths that day.
So far, a total of 6 lakh 30 thousand 26 people have been diagnosed with corona infection in the country. Of these, 9,213 people died. A total of 5 lakh 49 thousand 75 people have recovered.
In the last 24 hours, samples of 24 thousand 547 people have been tested. Considering the sample test, the patient identification rate is 23.15 percent.
Coronavirus infection peaked in the country in June-July last year. At that time, especially from the second week of June to the middle of July, an average of three to four thousand patients were identified every day. After the situation has been under control for some time, the infection has been on the rise again for more than a month.
In late 2019, the first coronavirus infection was detected in Wuhan, China. On March 7 last year, the first corona patient identification was announced in the country. The first corona-infected person in the country was declared dead on March 17.
The rate of patient identification was low at the beginning of the infection in the country. The infection started to increase from the middle of last May. From the last week of May to the third week of August, the patient identification rate was over 20 percent. From then on, the rate of identification of new patients also started to decrease. After a couple of months of declining infections, the upward trend in new patient and identification rates started from the beginning of last November. From December the infection began to decrease again. However, over the past five weeks, the infection has been on the rise again.
The vaccination program was inaugurated on January 26 to control the corona epidemic. On the same day, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the Virtual Immunization Program from Ganobhaban. The mass vaccination program started from February 8 in the country.
