A week-long lockdown across the country from Monday

Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader said the government had decided to hold a nationwide lockdown for a week from Monday in the current situation in Corona. However, he said that the industrial factories may continue to operate conditionally. Obaidul Quader said this while giving a briefing at the government residence this morning.

The Minister of Road Transport and Bridges also urged all to adhere to hygiene rules and wear masks as it is an urgent duty due to the rapid rise in corona infections and deaths.
Obaidul Quader said the government has already made the necessary preparations to deal with the second wave of corona but many are still showing reluctance towards hygiene including wearing masks, which could lead to dire situation. The main task now is for everyone to take utmost care for their own protection.

Besides, Obaidul Quader thinks that the success of the BNP in the Corona epidemic is not standing by the side of the people but making a storm in the media sitting at home and blindly criticizing and lying to the government. He said the BNP does not see any initiative of the government.
Besides, Obaidul Quader said that the BNP has to stand on the people’s side for the violence that the BNP and its allies have carried out by destroying the resources of the people and creating anarchy.

He said the BNP’s strategy now is to take revenge on the people in the name of the movement.

Besides, Minister for Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader said double charging for long-distance transport would not increase the suffering of the people in the event of a disaster. As soon as Ramadan comes, a class of traders raises the prices of daily necessities, which is a punishable offense. Addressing the gathering, the Minister for Road Transport and Bridges said the government is vigilant in controlling unnecessary price hikes and stockpiling. The government has already fixed the prices of daily necessities.

Obaidul Quader also warned that the government will not accept any attempt to destabilize the market and will not allow the market system to be held hostage by any kind of syndicate.
