Human chain of Awami Ulema League demanding ban on Hefazat-Jamaat

Bangladesh Awami Ulema League and 13 like-minded parties have demanded immediate ban on Hefazat-Jamaat. They also demanded the immediate withdrawal of the fatwa on the issue of wearing a mask in the mosque and vaccination during fasting.

The demand was made at a human chain of Bangladesh Awami Ulema League and Sammana 13 parties in front of the National Press Club on Saturday.

Speakers at the human chain said the government should immediately ban Hefazat-Jamaat. Besides, ordinary Muslims should also boycott them.
The speakers further said that Bangabandhu is not only the leader of Bangladesh but he is also the leader of the whole Muslim world. Therefore, the world’s tallest mosque (150 storeys) has to be built in place of Bangabandhu’s historic March 7th speech and the tallest minaret has to be built where Bangabandhu stood and gave his speech.

Bangladesh Awami Ulema League Central Committee President Maulana. Akhtar Hossain Bokhari presided over the human chain. Besides, General Secretary Alhaj Md. Abul Hasan Sheikh Shariatpuri, President of the Combined Islamic Research Council Alhaj Hafez Mufti Maulana. Abdur Sattar, Awami Ulema League Vice President Hafeez Maulana Chowdhury, Organizing Secretary Hafeez Maulana Muhammad Abdul Jalil, Assistant Office Secretary Maulana Muhammad Abdus Sabur Miah and other leaders were present.

Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim has demanded strict action against Hefazat and their supporters for allegedly carrying out violence in different parts of the country on the golden jubilee of independence. Awami League presidium member Sheikh Selim made the demand while standing at the point of order in the National Assembly session on Saturday (April 3).

Sheikh Selim said BNP, Jamaat, Hefazat-e-Islam attacked Hathazari, Brahmanbaria on the golden jubilee of independence and burnt houses, offices and businesses. Those who believe in one point of freedom cannot do it. They have no right to stay in this country.

He said, in the name of Hefazat-e-Islam. They are against Islam even if they talk about protecting Islam. In Islam, militancy does not support arson. Allah will protect Islam, will they protect? The government must take strict action against them.
