The golden jubilee of Bangladesh’s independence has been celebrated in New Delhi. The Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi and the ICCR (Indian Council for Cultural Relations) of India jointly organized a cultural and dance program on Bangladesh-India diplomatic relations on Saturday.
Bangladesh High Commissioner to India Mohammad Imran and the Director General of the ICCR spoke on the occasion of 50 years of independence and diplomatic relations at the beginning of the event held at the Sushma Swaraj Bhavan Auditorium in Delhi.
High Commissioner Mohammad Imran said Bangladesh-India has always shown utmost sincerity on the issue of friendship in the last 50 years. Our two countries have historical diplomatic and cultural ties. The people of Bangladesh are forever grateful to the Government of India as well as the people of India for their role in the great freedom struggle.
He said Bangladesh has risen to the list of developing countries after 50 years of independence. Due to the relentless efforts and visionary leadership of our Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the wonderful development of Bangladesh is appreciated all over the world today.
The High Commissioner said the average life expectancy and purchasing power of the people have increased in Bangladesh under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina. Many of our countrymen are coming to India for shopping and for the better education of their sons and daughters.
ICCR Director General Dinesh Patnaik said that today, in the 50 years of independence, it has been proved that India-Bangladesh friendship has been tested and it will be even stronger in the future. Recalling the historic political struggle of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Dinesh Patnaik said a country has become independent because of this great leader.
Later, cultural and dance performances were held on the themes of independence, the beautiful nature of Bangladesh, the abhorrent culture of Bengal and the heroic struggle of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The dance performance is conducted by ‘Srishti Sanskritik’ organizer.
The ‘North America Bangla Literary Conference 2021’ ended with the golden jubilee of Bangladesh’s independence. The virtual conference was held on March 26 and 27 under the slogan ‘Bridge of Bengali literature worldwide’. The host organization of this conference was ‘Bangladesh Foundation of Florida’. It is a 22-hour program in four episodes.
Ekushey Medal winning poet Asad Chowdhury inaugurated the conference from Toronto, Canada on the morning of March 26. The chief guest of the conference was Bangladesh Ambassador to the United States M. Shahidul Islam.
Greetings from eminent personalities from different parts of the world. One of them is the High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Canada. Khalil Rahman, Ataur Rahman, Advisor to the Prime Minister from Dhaka, Habibullah Siraj, Director General of Bangla Academy, Dolly Begum, Member of Parliament for Canada, Ekushey Medal winning writer and freedom fighter Dr. Nurun Nabi, Ekushey Padak recipient Bhaswar Bandyopadhyay, Nazrul expert. Gulshan Ara Kazi, drama personality Ramendu Majumder, Toronto Consul General Naeem Uddin Ahmed, Ekushey Medal winning Institute Director Zafar Wazed and others.
The conference committee honored three personalities at the 2021 conference. They are Ekushey Padak heroic freedom fighter. Nurun Nabi, Nazrul expert said. Gulshan Ara Kazi and artist Tajul Imam. The programs included discussions, seminars, recitation of poems, dance, music, drama, mime and puppet dancing.
The improved production of the conference has been appreciated by all. Tipu Alam was in the editing of the virtual production and Atiqur Rahman, the president of the organization was in overall supervision. Kazi Mashhurul Huda was the Member Secretary and Selim Chowdhury was the Chief Coordinator. Chitra Sultana was in charge of the cultural program of the host organization Bangladesh Foundation of Florida. The participation of the new generation in the conference was encouraging.
Thematic programs were the practice and spread of Bengali literature in exile, Dr. was in the performance. Nurun Nabi. Lutfun Nahar Lata was present at the recitation ceremony. Nargis Chowdhury was one of the five poets of literature and culture. Mime icon Kazi Mashhurul Huda was present at the discussion on the modern trend of mime in Bangladesh. Nazrul conducted a discussion titled spiritualism. Gulshan Ara Kazi. Kabir Kiran was involved in the globalization of Bengali literature. Muktiyuddhabhitik was in the discussion. Nurun Nabi. Discussion of publishers- present and future of literature and fine arts.
Of particular note at the conference was a program on national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam and world poet Rabindranath Tagore, Nazrul Rabindranath in Spiritualism and Psychology. There were also European poets and artists’ programs, poetry techniques, Muhammad Nurul Huda in the performance, Kazi Rafiq discussed drama and literature.

The production of ‘Bangladesh Institute of Performing Arts and Media’ in Dallas was clean. Apart from this, the performances of Purbasha Rahman, Tazri Awlad, Arshi Awlad, Sraboni Humaira, Devyani, Pabitra, Sundar Subarna and others were eye-catching.
