I will do business in a normal way by keeping the social distance and keeping the shops open peacefully in compliance with the health rules. Rajshahi Businessmen’s Unity Council said this at a press conference on Sunday at 11:30 am. Masudur Rahman, Organizing Secretary of Rajshahi Businessmen’s Unity Council, read out a written statement at the press conference.
At that time, he said, none of the small traders got the incentive money given by the government during the last lockdown, only a handful of industrialists got it. If large factories with thousands of workers can operate on a limited scale, why can’t we keep our businesses open? We traders will not sell any kind of product without masks. Even after this press conference, if the policy makers do not feel – then the businessmen will take to the streets.
At the same time, business leaders said, we want to do business while maintaining social distance and following hygiene rules. There is no way to cope with the damage we have done to Corona in the past year. This year too, the government is closing shops with lockdowns, which will further increase our business losses.
The leaders also said that the traders of Rajshahi are the number three kid of goats. The child who does not get milk – this child is from Rajshahi. This month of Ramadan is our business season every year. At this time we do business all year round. Then make the decision to lockdown very difficult.
Senior Vice President of Rajshahi Business Unity Council Rafiquzzaman, Faujdar Shafiqul Islam, General Secretary Farid Mamud Hasan, Joint General Secretary ABM Monowar Sultan Manu, Yasin Ali were present at the press conference.
