Two youths died in a road accident in Rajnagar

Two motorcyclists have died in Rajnagar of Moulvibazar. Another was injured in the incident. Police have arrested the deadly bus driver.

The accident took place in Luaiuni area of ​​Kulaura-Moulvibazar road of the upazila on Friday.

The deceased were identified as Sujan Karmakar, 24, son of Rabindra Karmakar and Rajan Roy, 23, son of Ranjit Roy.
Police and locals said a Kulaura-bound bus leaving Dhaka in the morning hit a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction. Sujan Karmakar, a motorcyclist, was killed on the spot.

Locals rescued Rajan Roy and Dipen Doshad, 23, and took them to a 250-bed hospital in Moulvibazar in critical condition. The on-duty doctor declared Rajan dead. Dipen was later sent to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital. Rajnagar Police arrested the bus driver Johnny, 32, son of late Abdus Salam of West Bakshirchar village under Babuganj Police Station in Barisal.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Rajnagar Police Station Abul Hasim said the bodies of the deceased were in the morgue for autopsy. The bus driver has been arrested. The bus and motorcycle involved in the accident have been recovered.
Madhabkund waterfall in Baralekha of Moulvibazar has been declared closed indefinitely due to fear of coronavirus infection. Authorities have banned visitors from entering the area since 8am on Thursday.

Tourists are urged not to visit Madhabkund at this time.

Police have arrested a couple with 200 pieces of yaba from Sylhet city. At that time 18 thousand 40 rupees was recovered from them for selling drugs.

They were sent to jail through the court on Thursday. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Media) of Sylhet Metropolitan Police BM Ashraf Ullah Taher said this.

The arrested are Jumon Uddin, 26, son of Gias Uddin of Mokambari Bazar area of ​​Kotwali police station and his wife Rupa Begum, 28.
Ashraf Ullah said they were arrested along with yaba in front of Akter Miah’s house in Sheikhghat Mollapara Hiyabaran residential area of ​​Sylhet city around 3:15 pm on Wednesday. Later, a case was filed against them under the Narcotics Control Act and they were sent to jail.
