Instructions not to do load shedding during Sehri-Iftar

The Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources has instructed not to carry out load shedding during Sehri, Iftar and Tarabi prayers in the coming month of Ramadan. The directive was given at an online inter-ministerial meeting on the overall situation of power supply during Ramadan and the current summer season. This information was given in the press release of the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources.

State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid presided over the meeting. The chief guest was Tawfiq-e-Ilahi Chowdhury, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Power, Energy and Mineral Resources.

In the meeting, to keep the power supply situation normal during the coming month of Ramadan and summer season, to continue / increase the supply of gas to the power generating stations; To take necessary measures to generate electricity as per peak hour (evening) demand; Not to do load shedding during Sehri, Iftar and Tarabi prayers; If load shedding is required, the public is advised to be informed about the load shedding in advance and to be vigilant so that the load shedding does not occur due to technical or any other reason.
In addition, all the distribution companies / companies at the meeting should inspect and replace the overloaded transformers and keep adequate stock of transformers in the store; Intensifying illegal disconnection activities; To take measures for wide publicity in electronic and print media to make the people aware about energy saving; To replace LED bulbs with CFL bulbs to prevent wastage of electricity; Not using extra lights in supermarkets, petrol pumps and CNG gas stations; To follow the existing rules and regulations regarding keeping shops, markets and malls open during the coming month of Ramadan; Restrict the use of AC in shopping malls, department stores and other commercial establishments during Iftar and Tarabi; All store owners to inspect the internal electrical equipment of the market; It is decided to conduct mobile court or take legal action if necessary to ensure marketing of his / her equipment as per BSTI standards.
