Obaidur Rahman Neel, joint convener of Vidyanandakati Union Awami Juba League in Keshabpur Upazila, has resigned from the party by posting on social media Facebook.

At 9:29 am, Obaidur Rahman Neel posted on his used Facebook ID about resigning from the party voluntarily. He wrote in the post, ‘Alhamdulillah, I have voluntarily resigned from the joint convener of Vidyanandakati Union Awami Juba League branch No. 4 of Keshabpur upazila. May Allah die with faith. ‘
He wrote in another post on his Facebook ID at 9:43, “Dear comrades of Juba League, please forgive me if I have made a mistake in the long run.” I pray that the great Alsnah will give you a good life. ‘

However, convener of the Upazila Juba League BM Shahiduzzaman Shahid and joint convener Abu Saeed Lavlu have not yet submitted their resignations. On 4 October 2016, a 41-member committee of Vidyanandakati Union Awami Juba League was formed with Rabiul Islam as the convener and Farooq Hossain, Shamim Akter, Obaidur Rahman Neel and Liton Hossain as the joint conveners.

Regarding his resignation from Juba League, Obaidur Rahman Neel said that he did not commit any anti-state activities. However, the Upazila Juba League gave a show cause notice on March 26 and asked to give a written notice within 3 working days. He later resigned voluntarily on Sunday morning after making a family decision and not being able to devote time to party activities. He also posted his resignation letter on Facebook.
Convener of the Upazila Juba League BM Shahiduzzaman Shahid said that Juba League leader Obaidur Rahman was given a show cause notice due to his anti-organization activities. He tactfully resigned before taking organizational action against him for failing to respond to the notice.
