Referring to Hefazat’s joint secretary general Maulana Mamunul Haque, Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader said it was no longer a secret that one of their leaders had gone viral on social media, including phone conversations, and identified a beautiful woman as his second wife after an immoral incident at a resort in Sonargaon.
He made the remarks at a briefing at his official residence on Monday morning.
Obaidul Quader said that in the ongoing violence in various parts of the country in support of these immoral incidents, the nature of this extremist-communal group has been exposed.
The Awami League general secretary thinks that this extremist communal group wants to avenge their old defeat by targeting the liberation war and the spirit of the liberation war as a threat to independence and sovereignty.
He called upon all the patriotic people of the liberation war to unite under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina to resist and defeat this religious evil.
Engineer Tanvir Shakil Joy, a Member of Parliament from Sirajganj-1 (part of Sadar and Kazipur) constituency, has contracted coronavirus for the second time a month after being vaccinated. He is the son of late Awami League presidium member Mohammad Nasim.

Aslamul Haque, a member of the ruling Awami League in Dhaka-14 constituency, has died (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilahi Raziun).
He died at the capital’s Square Hospital around 12 noon on Sunday.
Aslamul was admitted to the hospital on Saturday with a stroke.
Dhaka Metropolitan North Awami League Organizing Secretary Azizul Haque Rana confirmed the information to Jugantar.
Aslamul Haque was elected as a Member of Parliament on 29 December 2008 as the nominated candidate of Awami League in the Ninth Parliamentary Election. At the same time, he served as a member of the Standing Committee on the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism in Parliament.
He was re-elected as a Member of Parliament on 5 January 2014 in the 10th Parliamentary Elections. He was last elected as a Member of Parliament from Bangladesh Awami League in 2016.
