Biman employees detained in Shahjalal with gold worth Tk 70 lakh

Dhaka Customs House (DCH) has arrested an employee of Bangladesh Biman with gold worth Tk 7 million from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. His name is Jhantu Chandra Varman. He is working as an aircraft technician helper in Bangladesh Biman.

The gold was found in the seat of a Bangladesh Biman flight on Friday afternoon. Whose weight is 1 kg 160 g.

Shafiqul Islam Russell, ARO of DCH, said that a flight of Bangladesh Biman (BG 5046) came to Dhaka from Dubai. Jhantu Chandra Barman, who was on board the flight, was arrested as a suspect on the basis of secret information. He initially denied having gold on board, but later admitted to having gold inside the handle of the 21 / C seat during extensive questioning. The gold was specially hidden inside the handle. A case has been filed against him at the airport police station on charges of smuggling.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) said. Benazir Ahmed says, “I don’t know the language to condemn the violence carried out by the leaders and activists of Hefazat-e-Islam in Brahmanbaria from March 26 to 27.” All those involved in such destructive atrocities will be identified and brought to justice by watching video footage.

He said this at a separate meeting at Brahmanbaria Press Club and Circuit House on Thursday afternoon.

IGP said. Benazir Ahmed said that the video of the sabotage incident has come to the hands of the police. Action will be taken against the saboteurs after seeing these footages. I seek the cooperation of all to bring those involved in this crime under the law.

Addressing the people of Brahmanbaria, he said, “Remember that 160 million people are with you in Bangladesh.” And those who are committing criminal activities will be resisted by the law enforcement agencies at any cost.

After inspecting various facilities in the affected Brahmanbaria, the IGP provided financial assistance to the affected organizations. He said, in the name of Islamic education, our scholarly society is now divided into two parts. One spiritual master, full of spiritual power. The other is political, we have to identify them. We have to find out who the political scholars are.
