Dry food items have been distributed in Panchagarh to encourage wearing of masks. In this program, those who walk around wearing masks are given food in their hands and those who do not wear masks are given free masks.
A voluntary social organization called Gram Bangla Foundation has taken up this program to prevent the epidemic of coronavirus and to create awareness among the general public.
These food items and masks were distributed at Panchagarh Sher-e-Bangla premises at 11 am on Wednesday. Masks and food items were distributed to pedestrians, rickshaw-van drivers.
Chairman of the district council Anwar Sadat Samrat, vice president of Amlahar Degree College Yatis Chandra Roy, member of the district council and women’s rights activist Akhtarun Nahar Saki, general secretary of Hridoye Gram Bangla Foundation Saiful Islam Shanti, treasurer Ahsan Habib and others were present.
It has been alleged that the elder brother was killed due to the sharp smile of his younger brother centering on the construction of a toilet in Gurudaspur of Natore.
The incident took place at Purulia village in Nazirpur union of the upazila on Tuesday night.
According to the family sources of the deceased, Khalek (55) and Malek (50), two sons of the deceased Raushan Ali of Purulia village. Khaleq had an argument with his younger brother Malek and his son Abdur Razzak over the construction of a toilet inside the house around 11pm on Tuesday. At one stage, they stabbed their elder brother Khaleq and his eldest son Nurul Ali with sharp lashes and seriously injured them. Later, the locals rescued Khaleq and took him to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. The on-duty doctor declared Khaleq dead. The injured Nurul Ali is undergoing treatment at Gurudaspur Upazila Health Complex. The case was being prepared at the police station till this report was written.
Gurudaspur police officer in charge confirmed the incident. Abdur Razzak said a case was pending in connection with the murder. The accused covered their bodies after the murder. Attempts are underway to arrest them.
