Awami League General Secretary and Minister for Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader has said that the government’s challenge now is to tackle the coronavirus (Covid-19) infection and prevent the activities of communal groups.
He said that in order to meet these two challenges, it has become imperative to further coordinate government work and unite the party.
He was speaking at a video conference at the inauguration of a 50-kilometer stretch of road from Cox’s Bazar Link Road to Unchiprang on Tuesday (April 6th).
In this deteriorating situation in Corona, Obaidul Quader instructed the people to strictly abide by the lockdown directive against laxity and indifference.
At this time, he sought the cooperation of people from all walks of life to deal with Corona.
Quader said the BNP wants to show its irresponsibility by imposing responsibility on the government in everything. Their secretary general also linked the launch to natural disasters. The BNP has lost the ability to consider which is the responsibility of the government and which is not. Criticism has blinded the BNP to such an extent that they are now blaming the government for Kalbaishakhi’s death. In the coming days, it may be seen that the BNP is also blaming the government for the deaths due to lightning.
The Awami League general secretary also remarked that the BNP ended its responsibility with the lip service.
The bridge minister said development in Cox’s Bazar is a priority of the Sheikh Hasina government. The development that the present government has made and is continuing in various sectors of the district has not happened in the history of Cox’s Bazar.
