12,000 deaths worldwide in 24 hours

The Kovid-19 epidemic continues to claim lives in many countries around the world. Coronavirus has killed 12,000 people worldwide in the last 24 hours.According to the latest data from Johns Hopkins University (JHU) around 10 a.m. on Wednesday, the death toll from the coronavirus worldwide has reached 26.71 million. The previous day this number was 26 lakh 59 thousand 6 people. Besides, the number of patients infected with the virus has increased to 13 crore 23 lakh 2 .

The first coronavirus was detected in December 2019 in Wuhan, China. On March 11 last year, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared Corona an epidemic. Earlier, on January 20 of the same year, the WHO declared a state of emergency.

The United States, which has been hit the hardest by the coronavirus, has so far infected 3,64,47,397 people with coronavirus and killed 5,56,509.

The Latin American country of Brazil ranks second in terms of attacks and deaths. The total number of identified patients in the country has exceeded one crore 31 lakh and 3 lakh 36 thousand 946 people have died.

India, the world’s second most populous country, is third in the list of countries affected by the corona and fourth in terms of deaths. The total number of infected people in the country has exceeded one crore 26 lakh 7 thousand and 1 lakh 65 thousand 546 people have died. Besides, 2 lakh 4 thousand 965 people died in Mexico.

A case has been filed against six people in connection with the horrific violence in Faridpur’s Saltha on Monday night. Saltha Police Station SI Md Mizanur Rahman filed the case on Tuesday night. The names of 6 people have been mentioned in the case and three to four thousand more unknown people have been accused.

SI Mizanur Rahman along with some policemen went to Fukra Bazar after receiving information from AC Land at the beginning of the incident. There they were attacked. SI Mizan’s head was blown off.

Confirming the veracity of the case, Faridpur Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Administration) Jamal Pasha said the case was filed by the police. A few more lawsuits are being filed. He said eight people had been arrested in the incident till Wednesday morning.

It is learned that a six-member investigation committee has been formed on behalf of the district administration to investigate the incidents of attack, vandalism and arson at various offices and AC Land offices of the Upazila Nirbahi Officer’s residence and office. Additional District Magistrate Taslima Ali has been made the head of one of them. The other is headed by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Md. Aslam Ali Mollah.

It may be mentioned that the police led by Upazila Aceland went to Fukra Bazaar to ensure the effectiveness of the lockdown and first attacked the police and cordoned off the Saltha police station. After that, various government offices and residences were attacked, set on fire and vandalized. One person was killed in the incident.
